EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT CONSULTING SERVICES

As emergency managers, we think of disasters as recurring events with four phases contained in a cycle: Preparedness, Response, Recovery and Mitigation. The significance of the emergency management cycle is that we are always in at least one phase at any point in time.

The AG Witt Team brings its full-cycle experience to the benefit of its clients. The depth, breadth, and range of our experience is what gives us our credentials, enhances our qualifications, and differentiates us from other firms.

Our full range of services is what sets us apart.

Emergency Preparedness & Planning

We are a global leader in emergency preparedness and planning. We provide consulting services to state, county and local governments, and the education, healthcare and utility sectors.

We prepare you for the unexpected so you can achieve better control of the outcome.

Staff Augmentation

Sometimes, when disaster strikes, you may be unprepared or unable to quickly staff-up to the levels required to meet demands. Our professional staff are trained in FEMA recovery program regulations, policies, and procedures.  They are experienced in navigating the Public Assistance Grants Portal and in communicating effectively at the state and federal levels.

We stand ready to provide qualified supplemental staff for all required pre-declaration, training, recovery operations, and closeout activities.

Closeout & Audit

The last step in the disaster grant process is often the most difficult. Files are incomplete, documentation sometimes cannot be located, and very often attention is diverted to more urgent priorities and critical needs.

The AG Witt team of professional closeout staff know what it’s like and have the background and experience to step in and help states achieve their grant closeout responsibilities. Our team members have closed-out more than $15 billion in FEMA project worksheets.

We can do the same for you.

After-Action Reporting

We believe the best After-Action Reporting is done in real-time, while an event is unfolding, and while there is an opportunity to gather information before it might be lost to memory.

By starting the process in the midst of a crisis, we help our clients conduct objective evaluations of their operations, capabilities, and performance, by identifying areas that may be in need of enhancement or improvement.

Our formula for success is simple. We create an environment for open, collaborative and non-judgmental dialogue, listen carefully to the voices of all key stakeholders, and apply lessons we have learned from doing this in the aftermath of many crises.

Long-Term Recovery Planning

James Lee Witt led groundbreaking long-term recovery efforts and was the first to help establish a state long-term recovery office when he recommended the formation of the Louisiana Recovery Office following Hurricane Katrina.

He  improved upon it in the establishment of similar state-led recoveries in Iowa after the Midwest floods,  Vermont following Tropical Storm Irene, and New Jersey in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.

AG Witt remains a leader in long-term recovery planning, and provides professional planners, former FEMA FCOs and former state emergency management directors to assist in these efforts.
