Background:
Santa Clara County, a diverse Silicon Valley jurisdiction, faced immense challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. AG Witt was selected to manage the County's disaster cost recovery.
AG Witt provided high-level support for FEMA Public Assistance Category B emergency response and administered other funding programs like the CARES Act and ARPA. The team prepared projects for FEMA reimbursement, supporting the County's Emergency Operations, Health Department Taskforce, and three County-owned hospitals. AG Witt also managed the grants for isolation and quarantine sheltering, public COVID-19 testing and vaccination programs, PPE distribution, surge hospitals, and a multilingual Crisis Communication media campaign.
Approach
AG Witt developed 84 projects totaling over $409 million, with another 15 projects estimated at $50 million in process. The comprehensive support provided by AG Witt has been crucial in the County's recovery efforts.
